Hot Spring

Many of us are aware of the benefit of natural hot spring bath especially so for the Japanese who have made it part of their bathing culture. This has contributed to the fact that Japanese enjoy long life even though their lifestyle is extremely stressful. There are more than 300 hot spring areas in the whole of Japan. Out of the 300 well known hot springs, 6 have been termed 'Spiritual' or 'Miraculous' because of their outstanding therapeutic effects for many sicknesses and ailments.

There was once a team of researchers from JP Industry Universities lead by Professor Hashimoto conducted a study to explore the reason behind such differences in term of the healing effect. As the findings show, the volcanic activities in and around the so called Spiritual spring cause millions of high speed bubbles to be released through the bottom of the spring. The rupture and collision of these bubbles produce a natural ultrasound wave that is medically therapeutic. The findings were documented on monuments at the sites and bring Japan one step ahead in the understanding and application of ultrasound.
